To earn money on YouTube, you need to spend tons of money on equipment, devote hours to editing your videos, and appear on camera, right? Wrong. YouTube is one of the most diverse and egalitarian content monetization platforms out there right now. You certainly can earn money on YouTube with beautifully-produced, heavily-edited content. But you can just as easily earn big with content you produce in a few minutes on your phone and don’t edit one bit.
Want proof? Let’s take a look at one of my most successful YouTube videos. It’s just over one minute long, took about 3.5 minutes to shoot, edit, and upload, and has so far earned me $951.94 on a bit over 114,000 views.
The Video
My $950+ YouTube video is titled How to Install or Change Batteries on Swiffer Wetjet. From that title alone, you can probably guess what the video is about. Stumped? It’s about changing the batteries on a Swiffer Wetjet mop. That literally all it shows. I don’t even physically appear in the video, unless you count my hands. In it, I take out the Swiffer Wetjet, remove the battery compartment, and install new batteries, narrating the process as I go.
